Why are you so Confused All The Time?

How many times has this happened to you?
You go to a busy street full of many options of restaurants, each as savoury as another.
You're trying to choose between one restaurant or another. Foolishly you thought that having more options would be a good thing, but now you regret thinking that as drops of sweat descend from your face, your face looks tense from indecisiveness. Anxiety has taken control of you and you can't think straight if your life depended on it.
You keep uttering words like
Ummm...
I don't know....
Maybe.....
But your dilemma still doesn't reach a conclusion, your suffering knows no end.
And then a friend pops out of nowhere, he just makes an impulsive decision and says something like...
I wanna eat Mexican today, let's go to Rico's Tacos.
The decision was made. An impulsive one but it was made.
You're astounded by how your friend just casually made a decision and just decided to walk into it without having to think much. You try to convince yourself that taking the time to think about it would have been a better decision.
But that's not true at all, you couldn't have made a choice if you had a gun to your head. You whine and rationalize in your head saying you were the better one, but that couldn't be further away from the truth.
You see...
Impulsiveness isn't really that bad of a thing. If it was that detrimental to your survival then you wouldn't really have it.
Sometimes we have to make fast decisions in life, where we don't have any time to think. In these situations making an average choice is still better than making no choice at all.
In the case of the restaurant story, making a fast decision is much better than not making any decision at all because it's better to eat something than starve.
Life is very much like that, the worst decision is not making a decision. Indecisiveness is not a virtue, neither is overthinking. It doesn't lead to anything good.
Successful people make fast decisions, even if they are wrong. Once you know that the decision you made is wrong, you can choose to not make that decision and make a different one.
So don't just stand there in the middle of the road all confused.
Make fast decisions, take more action, be assertive and be courageous.
That's all for today.
See ya next week!
