True Despair
A Poem.

Ever since the beginning of mankind, we’ve been seduced by the idea of doomsday and have feared the idea of hell. There have been countless descriptions of hell, and countless abstract poetic and artistic depictions of it as well. But regardless, the core of it is always the same.
There is a profound difference between those who have been through hell and those who haven’t. And those who haven’t, are oblivious to the true nature of despair.
Where the clouds of sadness
meet the lightless sky.
When darkness swallows
all that we know.
When raindrops become teardrops
and cover the scent of ignorance.
Where the hands of one
cannot find the hands of another.
When the eyes can see
but know not what to look for.
There and then,
all creatures of the sky, land and earth
shall know true despair.
P.S. - Today, I saw a monkey steal an ice cream from a child and then the monkey went on to mock the child for being an idiot while the child cries in the background. It was quite funny.
