Introductions & Intentions.
Who am I?

Who is this guy and what’s his deal?
That’s what anyone that comes across this journal would want to ask. Fair Enough! I’ll answer it, but you’re not exactly going to be amazed by it because I’ve got nothing flashy to brag about. So here it goes.
I am Madhav Singh, a student that writes a lot. Some of it happens to be alright, and that is what is going to be posted here. I was thinking about keeping the identity of the author of the journal to be a mystery which would add to the intrigue and make it more interesting, but seeing as how everyone can see my name and my email anyway that wouldn’t have worked out too well!
What a shitty introduction!

But, I’ve got a few things to say and they might intrigue you if allow yourself to drown in the depths of my journal. So if you choose to proceed further and decide to give my work a read then you have my gratitude. Words cannot express how grateful I am so I’ll return that gratitude with great content.
As for my intentions?
It’s about time we got to that!
Now I've been writing poems since I started formulating my thoughts creatively back when I was 10. But the one door I never opened was that of journaling, not that I didn't want to, I just couldn't put myself in front of a desk and write down the things that I thought about. Now as to why I couldn't, maybe I was lazy, had little to no self-awareness, lack of self-belief or any other excuse that you could think of to be able to not actually do the work.
So, I finally sat myself down to start journaling in 10th grade when I put my pen on paper to scribble anything that was interesting(at least to me). I tried to track my thoughts to the bottom of their spiral to the best of my intellectual and creative abilities. By attempting to do so, I started broadening the horizons of my knowledge as well as sharpening the edges of the blades of my intuition.
I realized that this changed a significant amount in me, or you could even say that I was getting closer to my ideal self, a figment of my imagination that was brought to life by the mere act of following through with his ideals and beliefs. A version of me that I have to admit I may never be able to catch but the chase is worth it, nonetheless.

-"Every great man is merely an actor of his ideals"
In case you were wondering why I even put that quote up there. It's an attempt to elaborate on what Nietzsche wrote in Beyond Good and Evil or at least that's my interpretation of what he wrote.
We must realize our true selves by having our real selves in congruency with our ideal selves. The further away they both are, the more dissonance there is. It's not good for you, or anyone close to you, or society for that matter. It’s a realization so obvious yet it is seldom realized. That’s because it hides in plain sight.
So that’s what I’ll try to do. I’m going to follow up on things that I once deemed important, things that I know my ideal self would pursue. I can’t exactly let my ideal self beat me to it now can I?
Beyond the scope of this introduction, The Good Journal is basically a compilation of many such passages, poetry, and philosophical and satirical essays meant to provoke some thought and produce a laugh or two while I’m at it.

I suppose if you really are that interested in knowing what this man has to say then I can’t stop you and now would be a good time to hit the subscribe button so you can follow up on my work and get any relevant updates to this journal. I’m going to post weekly every Sunday (although it would be a different day for you depending on the part of the world you live in) so make sure to check your emails every Sunday so that you don’t miss out on any updates.
See ya!
