Better Than GOLD!!??

In this weeks series I'm going to talk about something really valuable.

Yes, like the title said it's even more valuable than gold.

I'm talking about real value here.

These are activities that would make it impossible for you to not reach your goals once you did them.

What are these activities called?

They are called HLAs.

HIGH LEVERAGE ACTIVITIES.

These are the activities that give you the highest return for your effort and time.

These are the only activities that you need to do to reach your goal.

This system is exactly what video games use to make you addicted to the game.

They might be known as objectives in video games.

But in simple terms...

These are the only activities that matter.

These are the macros of the goal.

For example, let's say the goal for you is to get in shape.

What would be the activities that matter the most?

Think...

Come up with 1-3 activities that matter the most.

I bet they are...

1) Resistance training

2) Sleep

3) Diet/nutrition

These are the activities that you can't afford to get wrong if you want to achieve your goals.

Otherwise hitting your goal is impossible.

You have to get them right.

Now that you know what the activities are, the next step is to set milestones and track.

Which brings me to the next big part of this weeks series,

TRACK YOUR HLAs

I can't stress this enough.

Know this, if you're not tracking them then you don't care enough about it.

Also, tracking your HLAs keeps you motivated to do more.

In any big audacious goal, the beginning is the hardest part because not only are you a complete novice you also are not gaining anything in the beginning.

You will not get any big rewards in the beginning to keep you motivated.

The big rewards only come later down the line. You may even have to wait years to see some results.

That's why you have to create your own rewards.

The milestones are created to track our progress.

They are the things that keep us going.

Imagine you're riding an airplane from London to Sydney.

Now bear in mind this is a long journey and sitting in a plane for hours is not that exciting in itself.

It's worse if the journey is just referred to as long.

It's important to know how long it is, where you are in the journey and how long will it take to get there.

You see the ETA on the flight screen and now you think - "I guess I can find something to do for 15 hours"

5 hours later...

"Only 10 hours to go!! I guess I'll take a nap."

9 hours later...

"Only 1 hour to go! Less go!!"

Until you finally reach there.

See how you can increase excitement in anticipation.

You can make yourself excited and motivated by observing that you're moving towards a goal in a very similar way.

This is an example of how I track my HLAs.

I don't like to complicate it and keep it simple.

But you do it however you want.

Once you start tracking it gets addictive.

But in this case this addiction is a good thing because you are spending most of your time trying to achieve this goal of yours.

Obsession is the only way to achieve a big goal.

Do you see now that if this is used in the right way then anything is possible?

Do you see how this is better than gold?

Your goals are more valuable than gold.

So achieving them also is more valuable than obtaining gold itself.

If not then you need to value yourself and your goals a little bit more.

Ok maybe not just a little bit(hehe)
