be like water my friend...

Yo wassup chimps,
Happy Friday.
In todays edition, I'm going to talk about the 2nd element of nature...
Water.
If you're confused because you jumped right into todays blog then check out my last weeks blog about the 4 elements of nature in which I've covered fire already.
So lets just get straight into it.
Water is free-flowing. It can take the shape of the container it is put in. It can become a lake, a river, an ocean and even your cup.
Water represents flexibility. The ability to adapt, to be able to adapt requires an openness of the mind and body. Openness is the source of all growth and learning.
Without an openness of the mind, we don't adapt.
What doesn't adapt becomes rigid.
In nature, to not adapt is a death sentence. To stay rigid is to die.
It is to reject life, to have your head up your own ass. To not be able to zoom out and have a perspective that is different to what you used to have.
You can see this in old people that are way too stuck in their old ways or young teenagers that think they've got everything figured out.
No one embodies this element better than kids.
Kids are new to the world. It is because of this that they are open to everything. A sense of openness that leads to tremendous growth over the years.
No one grows faster than kids. No one learns faster than kids.
You must learn from them.
A genius is often conceptualized as a child that retained his openness of the mind, of new possibilities and of new information.
You must adopt a child like openness till the day you die. This is the only way to truly stay young. Develop an insatiable curiosity.
You must want to learn more about the world and about yourself.
The best way to really embody this is to try new things.
Novelty leads to inspiration. It leads to new experiences and provokes unique thoughts which wouldn't have happened if you just stayed as you were.
Travelling, playing new sports, trying new hobbies, talking to people that aren't your typical crowd. All these things lead to growth.
Water is the fountain of youth. You must submerge yourself deep into the depths of this element.
So as Bruce Lee said -
"Empty your mind, be formless. Shapeless, like water. If you put water into a cup, it becomes the cup. You put water into a bottle and it becomes the bottle. You put it in a teapot, it becomes the teapot. Now, water can flow or it can crash. Be water, my friend.
Be like water making its way through cracks. Do not be assertive, but adjust to the object, and you shall find a way around or through it. If nothing within you stays rigid, outward things will disclose themselves."
Alright that's it for this element.
I'll talk about Stone (earth) in the next edition.
Bye.
